Discovery channel Health - Strange Phenomena with Organ Transplants in "TRANSPLANTING MEMORIES "

Discovery Health Channel Explores Strange Phenomena Linked to Organ Transplants in TRANSPLANTING MEMORIES In TRANPLANTING MEMORIES, prominent medical experts attempt to explain why some organ recipients adopt these memories and emotions, also known as "cellular memories." While a handful of scientists are skeptical -- dismissing these strange phenomena as post-surgery stress or reaction to anti- organ rejection drugs -- they are also countered by a growing number of experts who believe cellular memories are indeed transplanted with organs. Dr. Candace Pert, a pharmacologist and professor at Georgetown University believes the mind is not just in the brain, but also throughout the body. This school of thought could explain such strange transplant experiences. "The mind and body communicate with each other through chemicals known as peptides," says Dr. Pert. "These peptides are found in the brain as well as in the stomach, muscles and all of our m...

Owners in US Are Selling Businesses. Is the Economy Improving?

Published:  Wednesday, 8 Aug 2012 | 10:45 AM ET Small businesses are often used as a measuring stick for the U.S. economy. The more there are—and the jobs they create—the better the economic conditions. But some analysts say there's another way small businesses provide a window on the economy—by the number that are bought and sold. "A healthy market for business succession means a better overall economy," says Mike Handelsman, Group General Manager for  BizBuySell.com  and  BizQuest.com,   websites that are a business-for-sale marketplace. Is China Hiding “The Mother of All Debt Bombs”?

China's massive bank financed stimulus was intended to keep the economy moving. It may instead lead to economic disaster. Financial collapses may have different immediate triggers, but they all originate from the same cause: an explosion of credit.  This iron law of financial calamity should make us very worried about the consequences of easy credit in China in recent years .  When the Chinese Central Bank (the People's Bank of China) and banking regulators sounded the alarm in late 2010, it was already too late. By that time, local governments had taken advantage of loose credit to amass a mountain of debt, most of it squandered on prestige projects or economically wasteful investments. The National Audit Office of China acknowledged in June 2011 that local government debt totaled 10.7 trillion yuan (U.S. $1.7 trillion) at the end of 2010. However, Professor Victor Shih of Northwestern University has estimated that the real amount of local government debt wa...

Pope's butler and personal attendant:"I acted only out of visceral love for the Church of Christ"

"The thing that I feel strongly in me is the conviction that I acted only out of visceral love for the Church of Christ and for its visible head (the Pope)," the father of three told the court. Vatican prosecutors have asked for a three-year prison sentence for the Pope's butler, who is accused of stealing hundreds of confidential documents, some of them from the desk of Benedict XVI himself. The documents revealed intrigue, infighting and allegations of corruption and nepotism at the heart of the Holy See, in one of the biggest scandals to hit the Vatican for years. Mr Gabriele allegedly handed the documents to an Italian journalist who published them in May in a sensational book which lifted the lid on feuds within the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church.
