What are the titles CEO , CMO, CXO. CTO, CFO, COO, CIO, CHRO/CPO - The Chief Executive suite C-Suite

Shorthand for a company's top tier of executives, the term C-suite derives from the first letter of the high-level executive titles used by many large enterprises. The most common C-suite titles are chief executive officer (CEO), chief financial officer (CFO), and chief operating officer (COO). These C-suite leaders, also known as C-level executives, make decisions that can determine success or failure for their companies. Major publicly traded companies typically need several C-suite leaders. Standard roles include not only CEO, COO, and CFO, but also chief technology officer (CTO), chief information officer (CIO), and chief marketing officer (CMO). Smaller operations typically only need one C-suite executive, at the most two or three. A small business may have individuals leading key functions of a company, such as finance or marketing, who do not hold C-level titles. Chief experience officer (CXO) : an executive responsible for the overall experience of an organization's pro

A lesson in WISDOM.... Value time

A donkey and a tiger were arguing....  The donkey said to the tiger,  "The grass is blue." Tiger rebutted, "No, grass is green." Then the discussion between the two became more and more intense.  Both of them were firm in their own words and refused to give way.  To end this controversy, both decided to see the Lion, King of Jungle - for a verdict to resolve their argument.  In the middle of the animal kingdom, sitting on the throne was King lion.  The donkey started yelling before the tiger could even say anything.... "Your Highness, the grass is blue, isn't it ?"  The Lion took a look at the donkey and said, "Yes ! The grass is blue." Donkey : "This tiger does not believe or refuses to believe.  Annoys me -  he should be punished accordingly ." The king declared, "Tiger will be banished from this jungle for a week. "  The Lion King's verdict was heard by the donkey and he was jumping triumphantly with joy in the enti

'5 balls of life' speech by Coca Cola's former CEO

Here is a short but very inspiring speech about Life by Coca Cola's former CEO Bryan Dyson delivered at the 172nd commencement of the Georgia Tech Institute, on September 6, 1996.   His insight is as valuable today as it was then. Below is the full text. "Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them work, family, health, friends, and spirit and you're keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that 'work' is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life. How? Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special. Don't set your goals by what

What you should actively find while taking a heath insurance policy

 1. What is the claim settlement ratio for the company ? 2. What are the exclusions ? These include conditions like hernia, knee replacement , diabetes (for few years after starting the policy) . Several companies straight away deny covering a person with Diabetes. But lot of companies cover them. But pre existing diseases like diabetes are covered after a few years. 3. There are special policies for certain diseases like Cardiac ( heart) illnesses, Diabetes and Cancer. 4. Will your policy be renewable till end of your life or will the insurance provider only cover you till a particular age.. say 65 years only ? 5. Does your Insurance provider have your usually preferred hospitals in its network of hospitals listed on its website? 6. The Insurance agent may try to sell you a policy which will have lot of things which you don't need. This will increase the premium. Example they will try to push a policy where you get unlimited refill to the coverage i.e if you exhaust your limit, it

Is deep learning going to be higher in demand than machine learning?

Deep learning refers to a set of techniques by which we can achieve varying degrees of artificial intelligence by mimicking the working of a human brain. Deep learning is a subset of Machine Learning techniques that aim to achieve Artificial Intelligence. The distinguishing feature of Deep Learning is its use of various Artificial Neural Networks, that imitate the human brain. Just as in the brain, Artificial Neural Networks or ANNs also consist of neurons and synapses between them. Deep Learning vs Machine Learning: In traditional Machine Learning, the data must be broken down into individual features. These hand-crafted features are fed into the model and we get a prediction as an output. However, hand-crafting features is a time-consuming process that involves a lot of statistical knowledge and expertise in data science. With the advent of Deep Learning and multi-layered Artificial Neural Networks, feature selection can now be handled by the model itself. By feeding it numeric

Comparison of covid 19 data from some notable countries - how are they performing in coronavirus control

India has about 45 total cases per million and about 1200 tests per million.  Out of about 65000 total cases, about 20000 cases are recovered. Let us look at the data of other countries. we will look at countries which have been able to control the covid 19 infection in a better way as compared to most other countries. We have included mostly those countries where govt response was swift and strict measures were imposed. We have excluded countries where govt response was not strict for a long time even after more than 100 cases were discovered.   Germany, considered as having one of the best in response to coronavirus, is in lock down since 23 March (not very far from the date for India), has had about 2000 total cases per million and about 32000 tests per million. Out of about 170000 total cases, about 145000 cases are recovered. Canada, also considered as having one of the best in response to coronavirus, has had about 1800 total cases per million and about 28000 tests per mi

When will Coronavirus crisis end in many parts of the world ? Data Analytics gives us an idea

As per the analysis by the DDI lab of the  Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) ,   we can see the crisis ending in many parts of the world before July 2020. Covid problem will get reduce to a controlled level if not become negligible around the time mentioned in the below charts for countries shown. As a person with knowledge of data analysis, I can say that the analysis is fairly good predictor for countries where we have data filling large part of the bell shaped curve. This is on assumption that the cautious approach of the countries is continued. Compiled by Dr M Khalid Munir, Consultant, Healing touch hospital, Asif Nagar, Hyderabad. Should we be scared of Coronavirus ? What do the numbers say about the spread in spite of all government actions ?

I could not sleep after reading this news story. You may ignore it, but the depth of the problem should be understood so that proper steps taken to stop things from going out of control. This is an excerpt from news story dated Saturday 14 March 2020. Reference at the end. On January 29, when Italy detected and isolated its first coronavirus cases – two Chinese tourists – authorities were sure they had put together the safest protection system in Europe. The following day, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte immediately declared a state of emergency for six months, and made Italy the first country to block flights from China. "We can reassure all the citizens, the situation is under control," he said. "We expected cases in Italy too." But by March 11, the country had the second-highest number of infections outside China. In a press conference where the number of journalists was limited to prevent the spread of the virus, the head of the Italian Civil

EPF withdrawal rules and other info

Here are 10 important things one should know about EPF withdrawal: As per the latest rules set by the EPFO, a subscriber can apply for  EPF withdrawal  only if he or she has been unemployed for at least 2 months. The amount that an EPFO subscriber receives upon withdrawal is eligible for tax exemption if he or she had contributed to the EPF for more than 5 years. If a subscriber transfers the  EPF balance  from the account maintained with the old employer to the new one, then it will be considered to be a continuous employment. When an employee loses the job due to a reason that is out of his or her control, like critical illness or layoffs due to an organisational shutdown, the withdrawal will not be taxed. If the EPF is withdrawn before the completion of 5 years, then the withdrawn sum is taxable during the same year. In the next assessment year, the EPF amount has to appear in the tax return. The contribution to PF by the employer and the interest earned on that sum is also taxable.
